Alma Cherry

Alma Cherry, beloved mother, grandmother, foster parent, and servant of God, transitioned peacefully on February 13, 2026.

Alma accepted Christ at an early age and lived a life rooted in faith, love, and service. She served as a Paraprofessional with the North Little Rock School District for over ten years and dedicated her life to caring for children. Alongside her late husband, Leonard Cherry, she was a foster parent for many years, opening her home to children in need.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Conster Lee Lindsey and James Perry; her son, Iran Perry; her husband, Leonard Cherry; her brother, James Perry; and her sisters, Laura Williams, Arreda Spencer, and Donnie Stewart.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Trence Perry (Sharon) of Broadview, IL; daughter, Tamekka Williams (Curtiss) & Tomia Sutton of North Little Rock, AR and Reca Aaron (Bennie) of Starkville, MS. ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; her brothers, Raymond Perry (Joanne) & Curtis Perry (Ora) of Chicago, Illinois, Gene Autry Perry (Hilda), and Wayne Perry; her sisters, Ruby Gibson and Delois Powers of Starkville, Mississippi; along with a host of nieces, nephews (Special Nephew Juan Santana), extended family members, former foster children, and friends whose lives were forever changed by her love—and her mouth.
