Flora Dejena Fisher

Flora Dejena Fisher was born on September 27, 1961, in Little Rock, Arkansas, and she peacefully passed away on November 13, 2025, in the same city that shaped her life and held her deepest roots. Although she was born in Little Rock, Flora spent most of her life from childhood through adulthood in Lake Village, Arkansas. It was in Lake Village that her character, values, and joyful spirit were nurtured, and she always carried deep pride for the community that helped raise her.

A proud graduate of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, Flora cherished her time as a Golden Lion. Her education and experiences there enriched her life, deepened her sense of purpose, and connected her to lifelong friends and sisterhood bonds she held dearly.

Flora was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin who brought warmth, strength, and compassion to everyone blessed to know her.

Flora was preceded in death by her mother Ruthie Potts, father Lamar Fisher, and her brothers Lee(Rose) Potts and Larry(Bonnie) Potts. Their memories, woven into the foundation of her life, now embrace her in eternal rest.

She leaves to celebrate and honor her life her devoted son Jawaski Fisher; her beloved grandchildren Jamir Fisher, Ryen Hendricks, Shundrick Fisher, Pharrelle Mitchell, and Jakai Fisher; and her precious great-grandchildren Tatum Hammond, Lennox Ross, and Jiah Fisher, who brought her immense joy.

Flora is also survived by her loving siblings Linder Potts(Larry) Williams, Joann(Hickey) Hill, Erma(Freddy) Harris, Kenneth(Pat) Fisher, and Alfred Paul Fisher. She also shared a special lifelong bond with her godbrother Ed McCree, who held a unique place in her heart.

Flora held a deep and unwavering love for all her nieces and nephews, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy and pride. She treasured her cousins and valued the closeness and connection they shared throughout her life. Her church family held a special place in her heart, providing her with faith, fellowship, and strength. She was equally devoted to her sorority sisters, forming lifelong bonds built on sisterhood, service, and shared purpose.

Flora retired after many years of dedicated service with the Arkansas Department of Human Services. Many people in the community may also know her from her time working at Walmart and from her friendly presence in the shoe department at JCPenney. She was known for her sense of style and humor, and she carried a feisty spirit that made her truly unforgettable to all who met her.

Flora will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her vibrant spirit, and the joy she brought into every room. She was the life of the party, full of humor, energy, and authenticity, never afraid to speak her mind. Her legacy of resilience, laughter, and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her. The family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace and reunited with those who went before her, and her memory will forever remain a blessing.
