Bettye Jean Martin

Bettye Jean Martin was born May 5, 1939. At the age of 86, she departed this life on September 21, 2025 in Little Rock Arkansas at Arkansas Hospice. She is preceded in death by her husband Chester Martin Sr., daughter Adrienne Martin, mother Birdie Ward, and siblings Dorothy Thomas and Billy Atkins.

Bettye Martin was a faithful member of Samaritan Hill Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Bobby J Acklin, for over 70 years. She is a former Sunday School and BTU teacher, along with serving as chairman of the Church’s Beautification Committee for several years.

She is a graduate of Scipio A Jones High School, a college graduate, and is retired from JCPenney.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Sharon Ingram, Kimberly (Carlton) Harris, and Chester (Vickey) Martin Jr, along with a special niece, Rosalyn (Dean) Donahue.

She also leaves to cherish her memory, 8 grandchildren, 3 special grandchildren,19 great grandchildren (1 preceded her in death), and a host of family and friends.
