Kenneth Wayne Sanders Sr.
Kenneth traveled his last mile to his Heavenly Home on the Morning of September 13th, 2024. He was born in Little Rock to his parents Pompie & Nadine Sanders on September 2, 1960. Kenneth was the baby of the family alongside his other five siblings.
After graduating from Mills High School in 1979, Kenneth enlisted in the Arkansas Army National Guard. He would later in life retire as a Sergeant from the 212th Signal Battalion (known by many in his squad as Sgt. “Sandman”). Earlier in life, Kenneth worked in chemical weapons demilitarization at the Pine Bluff Arsenal for Burns & Roe Company. After the contract ended at the Arsenal, he was then transferred to work for Stearns Catalytic Engineering Company in Honolulu, Hawaii at Johnston Atoll (in the Pacific Ocean) testing chemical products.
Upon returning to Arkansas, he took up a New Career in Transportation & Logistics as a Truck Driver for over 30 years. Kenneth worked lastly for Midwest Trucking Company until his untimely death.
Kenneth was united in holy matrimony to Mary Thompson on May 19th, 2000. He was a Member of Greater Second Baptist Church where he drove the Church Bus on Sundays, sung in the Male Chorus Group, and worked Security detail at the church. Also, he was a Member of the Masonic Lodge. Kenneth loved driving his big work truck, collecting and watching old movies (especially Godzilla), listening to all types of genres of music, fishing, eating his favorite sweets (Chocolate Chip cookies & Oreos), spending time with family, and helping others.
He is preceded in death by his Parents: Pompie & Nadine Sanders; Siblings: Larry Sanders, Anthony (Tony) Sanders & Gloria (Faye) Wright.
Kenneth is survived by his Wife Mary Sanders for over 30 years; Son Kenneth Wayne Sanders Jr.; Son Brandon Sanders; Daughter Toshona Eyvette Carter; Stepsons Theodis Thompson Jr. & Antonio Thompson; Grandchildren Kaileigh Renea Sanders, Kentrell Wanye Sanders, Natasha Thompson, Ayana Thompson, Aymla Thompson & Kearniq Thompson; Siblings Bernice (Roosevelt) Franklin & Sandra Prunty; Mother of his son Kenneth Jr; Janice Renae Sanders-Adway, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
