DEACON ELBERT TOWNSEND, 62 of Sherwood, Ark., departed this life September 13, 2023. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Townsend, Sr. and Bessie Townsend; and father-in-law: Lacy Neal.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Tammy Townsend; mother-in-law, Veal Neal; siblings, Verganne Murray, Leodis Townsend (Bev), Gene Townsend, Jimmy Townsend; in-laws, Lawrence Neal (Maria), Harry Neal (Shanelle), Isaac Neal (Brandy) and a host of nephews, nieces, great and great-great nephews and nieces. Public Viewing: Saturday, 1-2 p.m., with service beginning at 2 p.m., all at New Holy Grove Baptist Church, 501 Main Street Augusta, Ark.
