Rev. Dr. Michael O. Carter

Rev. Dr. Michael O. Carter, 71, of Little Rock, AR transitioned on September 1, 2018 from his earthly home to his heavenly home. A man of impeccable work ethic, Dr. Carter was a thirty-four-year employee of Baptist Health System. Dr. Carter was deeply committed to his ministry, which impacted the lives of many. He accepted pastorate calls at the following churches in Arkansas Conference: Coleman Chapel #2 in Gethsemane, Arkansas; New Mount Zion AME Zion Hattesville, Arkansas; Moores Chapel AME Zion Church in Cleveland, Arkansas; Coleman Chapel AME Zion Church of Little Rock, Arkansas. At the time of his demise, Dr. Carter was a pastor of Grace Temple AME Zion Church of Little Rock, and for the past twelve years, Presiding Elder of the Little Rock – Hot Springs District. He was also a delegate to five General Conferences of the AME Zion Church. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 41 years Lillie Jenkins-Carter, Stepmother, Mary Porter of Anderson, Indiana. Two daughters Tanya Carter-James (Terrance) Michelle Carter, one grandson Noah Carter, two brothers Clifford M. Carter and Manual Hunt(Louise), of Anderson, Indiana. One sister Cathy Dickerson (Charles) of Phoenix, AZ.
